Volunteer

Thanks for your interest in volunteering with the ITDRC! Our Field Disaster Response Teams (FDRT) and Remote Response Teams (RRT) are comprised of service oriented IT and AV Professionals from many technology disciplines who volunteer their expertise and skills in times of disaster. Our technology volunteers work together to develop and implement solutions that help communities and small businesses continue operations and successfully recover from disaster.

Technical Volunteers should possess some of the following knowledge and skills sets:

  • Productivity Applications (Office, Database, Accounting, CRM)
  • Application Development
  • IT Infrastructure / Project Management
  • Technical/Functional/Business Analyst
  • Desktop OS (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Apple OS, Linux/Unix, Ubuntu, ChromeOS)
  • Server OS (Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012, Solaris, Apple OS X Server, etc)
  • Structured Wiring (Cat 3/5/6, Fiber Termination, Audio, Video, Coax)
  • Network Design, Implementation, and Maintenance
  • Unified Communitcations / Audio Telephony / Video Telephony
  • CCTV / Access Control Systems
  • Projectors and Displays
  • Integration and Control Systems
  • Audio / Video Mixers and Switchers
  • Industry Certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, InfoComm, etc)





Volunteers without Technical backgrounds are also needed to help with General Administrative Tasks, Logistics, Marketing, Fundraising, etc. Non-Technical Volunteers may be deployed or work remotely.
